Tom's Story

Tom and William have been befriending friends for nearly ten years.

They have lots in common including walking, Reading U3A, the countryside, music, literature, gardens and share the same great sense of humour.

When asked what it means for William to visit, Tom said “I don’t feel so isolated – very much cheered.  It has meant a lot to me to have contact since I’ve been on my own.  It’s a nice natural friendship that we developed…I value it greatly.”

William says “We are very compatible, and very well matched so it feels like a natural friendship…. Also, I get a lot of information from Tom, he’s a mine of information.”
